AIG SOKARI MOVES TO TACKLE INSECURITY IN TARABA

Newly promoted Assistant Inspector-General of Police currently serving in Zone 3, Daniel Sokari Pedro, has commenced moves geared at tackling the recurrent incidents of insecurity in Taraba State and by extension the Northern Region.

To achieve the task, he has initiated a synergy between the Police and the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), local vigilante teams, hunters and the leadership of Islam and Christianity in the state.

At a recent meeting he held with the groups, AIG Sokari Daniel Pedro urged them to cooperate with his command to flush out undesirable elements in the state.

Emphasising the need for cooperation between the police and the public, AIG Sokari Pedro urged residents of the the state to always assist the police with valuable information to enable them succeed in the task of eradicating criminality.

He also solicited for their support in terms of providing authentic evidence against suspects on trial in courts.

According to him, such evidence would facilitate the successful prosecution of criminal suspects by the police as well as fast-track the administration of justice by the courts for the betterment of the society.

AIG Sokari Daniel Pedro hails from Abonnema City, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, in Kalabari Land.

Kalabari Times checks revealed that he is currently the highest ranked police officer from the Kalabari Nation.

Meanwhile, AIG Sokari Daniel Pedro, has expressed dismay over the poor state of the Taraba State Police Command.

The AIG, who was recently in the state on an official tour, could not hide his displeasure over the dilapidated buildings littering the premises of the command headquarters.

Wondering why no appropriate measures have been put in place to offer the command a facelift, he mentioned synergy with the general public as one of the strategies that could that transform the command infrastructurally.

He advised the state Commissioner of Police, Abimbola A. Sokoya, to relocate to a befitting site within the next six months.

”Within the subsequent six months, I anticipate you to maneuver out of this place,” he said.

AIG Sokari Pedro, however, promised to get the attention of the Taraba State Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku, to the plight of the command.

AIG Sokari Daniel Pedro’s profile shows that he started his career as a Cadet ASP Course 16 in 1990, from where he meritoriously grew to his current rank.
